“This distinctive red is made principally from Syrah, blended with small portions of Petit Verdot and Tannat. The powerful Eventide Syrah 2020 vintage (5*) is dark, youthful and likely to be long-lived. Full-bodied, it is packed with vibrant blackcurrant, plum and gently spicy flavours, with a hint of liquorice, nutty oak adding complexity, and a firm backbone of tannin. Best drinking 2025+”

Eventide Syrah 2020, Waiheke Island 5* From Raymond Chan
Deep, full, ruby-black, lighter on edge. The nose is enticing and rich, with aromas of blackberries, plums melded with chocolate, lavender and black pepper. Medium-full bodied, ripe aromas of blackberries and plums show density, unveiling black pepper, lavender and chocolate, along with earthy minerals. The wine is mouth-filling with ripe fruit, enlivened by spice and integrated acidity. Velvety, ripe, fine-grained tannins provided a fine grip. This charming Syrah shows varietal, balanced ripeness and acidity on a chocolaty, velvety palate. Match with lamb shoulder and venison over the next 6-8 years. 14% alc.
